Depending on the OS, if linux you can probably boot gparted on both
hosts and DD the disk from kvm vm to the vmware vm over the network.
I've done it. Linux is usually OK with it once booted.

Hi list,
Let me emphasize that: I know this is a terrible idea and that I
should stick to KVM zones, but this really isn't my decision to make.
As it turns out my employer liked some VMs that I made for bypassing
VPN restrictions, but -- because of established development practices
and money/time spent on a VMware workflow -- the fact that it's not
VMware based, is a total show-stopper for them.
Is there a way to create a VMware image from a KVM VM/image? I'll take
anything, even if it's theoretical and needs some low-level dev work
to get going.
Thanks,
