yes, then i can get to a prompt:

I didn't change any video / input settings. I'm trying to access it via Java 
Remote Console.

 If you select the noinstall or noimport option can you get to a prompt?
 
 In addition, are you using the local video and mouse looking for output
 (assuming you've stayed with the default to use the wscons terminal).
