Robert has applied and closed out
https://github.com/joyent/smartos-live/pull/439 which brings in a nicer
installer inspired by (and using code from) the SDC installer.
The biggest change people will probably notice is that it is now much
easier to specify a particular pool layout for your zones pool, and
there's an option to drop to a shell to let you manually create your
zones pool if you so desire.
It's gotten a lot of positive feedback from people who tested it when
the old installer was causing them problems so this change should be a
net win.
Let us know if it gives you trouble.

P.S. For those who were using my builds, this was the last change I had
that wasn't yet merged, so for now I'm shutting down my build server.
