Adding three IPs on a single interface would added a small bit of
complexity, so I just went with adding a new nic for each IP, also it's
easier for me  to manage ipf on the nic than by IP.

If that's the case, then it still shouldn't have selected the wrong nictag.
The primary nictag is different than all the other nictags, only thing that
is the same is the mac
