Finally kicked it out of the drafts folder: https://blog.shalman.org/smartos-zfs-boot-media/ I was hoping when I started it to make a disk image that would be compatible with "zpool online -e <disk>" (I think you'd want to re-install GRUB after that) but the last time I tried I think I got a panic or something.
