I've been working on a vagrant plugin for managing zones in a vagrant box composed of a tweaked global zone
https://github.com/sax/vagrant-smartos-zones There are fixes in Vagrant to detect SmartOS, but I don't think they're in a released version yet. I've wrapped up those changes into another plugin in the meanwhile, https://github.com/sax/vagrant-smartos-guest Boxes are here: https://vagrantcloud.com/livinginthepast The plugin will download a platform image iso into the vagrant home directory. I've only tested it on VirtualBox on a Mac, so this may not suit your purposes. Also, it's still a work in progress... networking out of the local zone isn't correct. Only a single local zone per box at the moment. vagrant ssh -- gets you into the global zone as user vagrant vagrant zones --help vagrant zlogin -- gets you into your local zone On Tue, Mar 25, 2014 at 2:06 PM, Elijah Wright <[email protected]> wrote: > > There are some vagrant boxes here - > http://dlc-int.openindiana.org/aszeszo/vagrant/ - but they're built on a > fairly old version of SmartOS. > > BenR was telling several of us yesterday that he'd spent most of his hack > time over the weekend working out a better build process for these - so > that the Chef omnibus and test-kitchen kits can be used with them - to get > a more up to date set out into the wild. > > --e > > > > On Tue, Mar 25, 2014 at 2:58 PM, Cameron Taggart < > [email protected]> wrote: > >> I'm interested in trying a few things out on SmartOS because of its >> support for Node.js and because of the Joyent hosting like 10 Gbit/s.
