Hi all,

Not sure if I have brought this up previously but I am observing this
problem on all 4 home office machines.

SmartOS with default zfs params in dual mirror with SLOG configuration:

1. Virtio drivers signed by Joyent give 2 MB/s sequential writes.
2. Virtio drivers from Red Hat give 22 MB/s sequential write.

Writes outside the zone or in Linux guest average on 150 MB/s.

I have compared this to Joyent Cloud, where I see they are using old
Joyent signed Virtio drivers, but the sequential writes in Windows
instances are over 160 MB/s.

So my question is, what is killing it in the qemu-kvm shipped with SmartOS?
Also, should not the wiki suggest using latest Virtio drivers from Red
Hat / Fedora since they are oout performing the old Joyent drivers?
