Hi, everyone, First of all, thanks SmartOS for such a great OS made for Cloud. And thanks Project FiFo team for such a great orchestration layer on top of SmartOS.
So I have created something combining the SmartOS + FiFo. In short, it is a distribution (or, repacking :)) of SmartOS, with FiFo project release inside! The project home page (as well as the download) is here: http://www.dogeos.net I have named the distribution **DogeOS** because it is SmartOS full of dog things of FiFo inside :). The features of this distribution is: ========================= 1. It is all-in-one integration of SmartOS and FiFo release. Current release is v20140404T001635Z-0.4.4, which integrates SmartOS version: 20140404T001635Z, FiFo version: v0.4.4. 2. FiFo chunter is lively installed, started and updated. It is part of the live system. So every machine is booted, it provides cloud services. 3. All necessary datasets & packages for install FiFo zone is packed. Very easy-to-use wizard is provided. You can setup the management FiFo zone in around 10mins without any Internet connections. 4. There are ISO and USB IMG provided. You can test in VirtualBox with ISO, and use USB in real hardware. The Project Status & Plan: =================== 1. The project is now hosted on github (of coz, it is open!). Currently the build involves some manually work. But the auto-build script is coming. 2. Regular release will be made when FiFo stable version is released. 3. Feature plans is targeted to be the ultimate cloud OS based on SmartOS, which enables you build up a private cloud as easy as using some live linux.
