Direct access to the zfs filesystem - delegated, lofs or otherwise. Sure I can run illumos or zfsonlinux in a kvm, but vm zfs on hypervisor zfs seems a waste. Even some sysadmin benefits - I hate having to use kpartx+lvm for a kvm raw image in the base OS. 2. The concept of container based vms has a lot of positives. Being able to get the benefits of a fully isolated (kvm) style container combined with the performance of a direct base kernel driven container is a powerful idea.
