I've encountered these sorts of problems when upgrading SmartOS versions and
there being core dumps left over from previous versions. The format can change
between SmartOS versions and it can't be read so corruption is assumed.

It could be something else, but that's the only time I've encountered this.

Hi,

zpool status reports my zones pool is corrupted. It seems 2 blocks went bad
(see below for more details):

errors: Permanent errors have been detected in the following files:

        <0x4865>:<0x1>
        <0x6f7a>:<0x1>

That's really strange since mirroring is active.
Could this be zfs not writing the right data on both disks?
My Supermicro server is running joyent_20131003T221245Z kernel

At this time, I can see no effect on running VMs.
Is the corruption happening outside of filesystems/volumes actual data? how
could I try to recover from this situation?
I have 4 new disks and would like to clean up the pool.
Would something like this be correct:
zpool create zones2 mirror <ndisk1> <ndisk2> mirror <ndisk3> <ndisk4>
zfs snapshot -r zones@snap
zfs send -Rp zones@snap | zfs receive -u zones2
<stop all vms>
zpool export zones
zpool import zones2 zones

Thanks,
-
Michel
