Hi Josh, I tried both ways to compare. "vmadm shutdown" took about 7 minutes after the timeout message occurred.
"shutdown -y -g 0 -i 5" immediately closed the connection as you'd expect, but the VM stayed in "shutting_down" state for about the same amount, roughly 6 or 7 minutes before finally switching to "stopped" Thanks, Mark On Fri, Aug 15, 2014 at 5:49 PM, Josh Wilsdon <[email protected]> wrote: > >> What I'd like to find out is whether there is someplace I can look that >> would help me understand why the shutdowns are taking so long. >> >> > Are these KVM or SmartOS VMs? > > If SmartOS, can you try running 'shutdown -y -g 0 -i 5' in one of them > that won't shut down, and tell me whether that works to shut down the zone? > > Thanks, > Josh > -- Mark ------------------------------------------- smartos-discuss Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/184463/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/184463/25769125-55cfbc00 Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=25769125&id_secret=25769125-7688e9fb Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
