I think Daniel already covered this. Note that it's not an "rpool" in the Solaris/OpenIndiana sense; we don't boot from it, you cannot use the boot environment tools to manage it, etc. It's just a normal pool, and it contains your instances. > I know I should set up a raidz2 pool with 6 disks, but right now I don't > have the 6th HD and I need to get this done. You can create additional vdevs and add them to the pool, striping across it and the existing vdevs, but you cannot "grow" a raidz vdev. The only way to go from a single vdev of 3+2 to a single vdev of 4+2 is to destroy the pool and create a new one. Better you know that now... BTW, other than the slightly lower cost per unit storage, there's no real advantage of 4+2 over 3+2.
