Whether the binaries are compiled on a Linux machine, or in an LX branded zone, the result should be identical down to the last byte. The LX brand emulates Linux system calls; everything else from the C library and up is the same set of binaries that would run on a "real" Linux kernel. If a binary behaves "differently" under the LX brand, that is in all likelihood a bug -- one that we are keen to hear about and fix! Some particular Linux functionality cannot currently, or may not ever, be emulated in a zone; those things should fail fast with an ENOTSUP/ENOSYS error. The reason we haven't really put many (any?) images up in the repository for broad consumption yet is that we're still actively working on the LX brand. The good news is that many things already work exceptionally well, but we are definitely still working. -- Joshua M.
