Hi,
ipmp has been enabled for the global zone.
The default behaviour is using multicast. (224.0.0.1)
So far so good.
This worked before the update without any problems.
Since we are using standby links, only one interface should be active.
The problem is, that the standby links receive packets but sending roundrobin.
When a switch hasn't enabled igmp-snooping, multicast is treated as broadcast
and ipmp uses a huge amount of probe ip adresses.
Of course deprecated flag is set using -standby, thus they shouldn't receive
packets.
To overcome the problem, we now try to use unicast beacon probing using host
routes like stated in this document:

Rgds.
Franz

The if_mpadm code has been around since the launch of opensolaris. There
don't appear to have been any changes to the ipmp driver during the time
frame that you're referring to.

What changes are you referring to in the IPMP code?

Can you please provide the exact series of steps that you use to enable
IPMP inside of your zone? Or is this running in the global zone?
