Thanks for your help. In additional, I found two flags: /var/svc/provisioning and /tmp/.FIRST_REBOOT_NOT_YET_COMPLETE
While the zone is created, there should be a /var/svc/provisioning After the VM boots in the first time, there will be a /tmp/.FIRST_REBOOT_NOT_YET_COMPLETE and /var/svc/provisioning will be changed to another flag. After the VM reboots, the /tmp/.FIRST_REBOOT_NOT_YET_COMPLETE flag is gone By checking these two flags, I can be aware of the creation progress. Can I accelerate the progress? Hi, 1+2. When you use the "joyent" brand for your VM, the 'zoneinit' service will reboot the VM as part of the setup. 3. You could accelerate the process by using the 'joyent-minimal' brand which does not use the zoneinit service and does not require a reboot.
