Hi,
There is no supported way to do this if you want to truly dedicate it.
However ...
1. you can use zonecfg to add a delegated dataset. But:
- the gz no longer sees it as it now belongs to the zone
- if you delete the zone using vmadm, it will DELETE the dataset also.
(This will bite you in the ass if you are not careful)
- you CAN manage the dataset from within the zone, you can set
properties, create snapshtots, ...
2. use the 'unsupport' filesystems property from vmadm
- gz still sees it
- gz still owns it, so management must be done from the gz
- vmadm delete will not delete your data
- zone can only read/write the data
- multiple zones can access the same data if needed
man vmadm and man zonecfg are your friends
Regards
Jorge

Hi, Is it possible to access a delegated ZFS Dataset from the Global
Zone without having to detach change mount points etc?
Thx.
