Greetings, I’m looking for somebody who has experience with Dtrace and KVM VM’s (Windows Specifically) to help debug some performance problems that I’m having with a database application.
I have a client/server application that uses SAP Advantage Database Server. 1 VM is on 1 host and another VM is on another host. Theres GB switching fabric in between the hosts and LACP driver being used in the global zone across two nics & two switches. When I run the apps internal performance testing module on the server hosting the database directly the performance is great. When I run it on the terminal server where the users access it the results are terrible. I’m sure its network related and I’m looking for ways to tweak the virtio or change drivers entirely, but somehow need to figure out where the bottleneck is and I think that Dtrace is the only option at this point. This is on self-hosted hardware BTW. Sunfire X4170 M2’s to be exact. 2 Sockets, 6 Cores each, 144GB DDR3 Ram, SAS Drives with L2Arc and SAS SLC SLOG. Let me know if you’re interested by direct email please and include your Skype ID.
