If you want to make copies of the VM, you could create an image
(essentially a saved snapshot of the contents of the VM disk). You
could use that image to create one, or more, new VMs with the same
contents. The image management tool is described in the imgadm(1M)
manual page, which is also available online:

    https://smartos.org/man/1M/imgadm

There may also be some useful instructions in the wiki, e.g.

    https://wiki.smartos.org/display/DOC/Managing+Images

Cheers.
