When installing mysql-server-5.6.28 from Joyent pkgsrc
(http://pkgsrc.joyent.com/packages/SmartOS/2015Q4) I noticed that „my.cnf“ is
installed in /opt/local? Is that intentional? Or a known issue?

Running „mysqld —help“ yields: „Default options are read from the following
files in the given order: /etc/my.cnf /etc/mysql/my.cnf /opt/local/etc/my.cnf
~/.my.cnf“

Accordingly, /opt/local/my.cnf isn’t even looked at - in line with my
observations.

My workaround was to move the my.cnf file to /opt/local/etc/ but I wonder were
to report such kind of issues to?

I’d appreciate your thoughts.

Best regards,

Peter
