I am trying to configure am ARM cross-compiler environment (from
yoctoproject.org) on an ubuntu 14.04 lx zone.
Last September I tried to do exactly this while at an internal conference at
work (RDK-B is Yocto-based - http://rdkcentral.com ).
Compile worked fine, but when I tried to mash the fruits of my labors into a
bootable image for subsequently writing to a micro-sd card, I discovered that
FUSE support didn't exist in an LX zone. I didn't flag this as a deficiency at
the time, because really, what kind of madman would want FUSE support in a
server-based virtualization environment? Present company excluded of course.
But depending on what your target is going to be, you might eventually find
yourself going to KVM-based Ubuntu anyway (yeah, I really wanted it to work
properly in an LX zone too...)
I have reverted to the KVM for now, but even there if you kill a build
at the wrong time the machine disappears up its own bum producing a load
average of close to 100 before it reboots!
I'd still like to get to the root cause of the compiler not running...
