that's awesome!
If I remember correctly plan9 has a shell that lets you declare an array
of pipes. I have wondered how one would augment bash to accept these or
similar arguments.
Further, I've often thought everything should be a directory instead
everything being a file...and have wonder aloud on how one would provide
XMLPath like directory walk throughs on files that aren't XML/JSON...on
and on...in bash.

Being interested in Plan9 I've been trying unsuccessfully to get it to
boot on SmartOS with KVM. I've been able to boot and install 9front,
but Plan9 from Bell Labs, including, 9legacy and 9atom have always
failed. Today I was finally successful. In case anyone would also
like to try this was my path to success:
# qemu-img create -f qcow2 plan9.img 4G
# qemu-system-x86_64 -hda plan9.img -cdrom images/plan9-bell-labs.iso
-m 1024 -net nic,macaddr=ab:cd:ef:00:01:02 -enable-kvm -vnc :0
-enable-kvm -boot d -k sv -no-kvm-irqchip
