delegate_dataset will create a dataset zones/UUID/data that can be managed inside the zone. (snapshots, sub datasets)
you can cheat and use zonecfg to for example delegate an entire zpool to a zone. (which has a lot of painful caviats -- mainly if you delete your zone the datasets goes with it) doing that also removes it from the global zone, so if you try and delegate zones dataset everything is going to break TM.
