hi,all
Purpose: I want to change dedicated-cpu as cpu-share for vm by zonecfg.
Program 1:
When the modifiy is completed,
I only type the cmd: $ zoneadm -z 2b1e7695-c7c6-4752-9990-ee83f5756664 reboot
And finally use the "poolstat" to view the result, such as:
[root@smartos-pxe ~]# poolstat
pset
id pool size used load
0 pool_default 1 0.00 0.00
8 SUNWtmp_2b1e7695... 1 0.00 0.02
Looks like it does not work by reboot.
Program 2:
When the modifiy is completed,
firstly, I type the cmd: $ zoneadm -z 2b1e7695-c7c6-4752-9990-ee83f5756664 halt
then type the cmd: $ zoneadm -z 2b1e7695-c7c6-4752-9990-ee83f5756664 boot
And finally use the "poolstat" to view the result, such as:
[root@smartos-pxe ~]# poolstat
pset
id pool size used load
0 pool_default 2 0.00 0.10
Looks like it does work by halt/boot.
Question:
the description of zoneadm reboot as follows:
reboot [-- boot_arguments]
Restarts the zone (equivalent to a halt / boot sequence).
Fails if the zone is not active. See zoneadm(1m) for valid boot
arguments.
But based on the experimental results, I feel "reboot" and "halt / stop"
sequence is different .
Does anyone know the difference between reboot and halt / boot about zoneadm?
Thanks!
