I have VMware Fusion rather than Workstation, and here under Settings for the VM it's under:

Processors and Memory -> Advanced -> Enable hypervisor applications in this virtual machine

There is a setting in VMware to enable virtualization inside the guest... sorry, I don't remember what it's called but it is something VT-x related.
