I have just upgrade one of my Global Zones to 2017Q1 and see that Salt is missing.

It was in 2016Q3 and 2016Q4

Compare the following for confirmation:

https://pkgsrc.joyent.com/packages/SmartOS/2016Q3/tools/All/ contains salt-2016.3.3.tgz

https://pkgsrc.joyent.com/packages/SmartOS/2016Q4/tools/All/ contains salt-2016.3.3.tgz

https://pkgsrc.joyent.com/packages/SmartOS/2017Q1/tools/All/ - no salt package

Intentional or oversight?

Whenever a package goes missing from a release, it usually means that it failed to build, typically after a version update.

It’s the case of the py27-zmq package this time, it’ll look at it shortly.

Aha, thanks very much.

FWIW (I did it so mights as well share it) here's a diff of the py* packages from 2016Q4 to 2017Q1 - 5 new py27- packages, with p27-zmq missing:
