Understood, but Ansible is popular so I think many other people will be
impacted by this. In my case, I manage hundreds of instances with
several different configurations, so an "update.yml" ansible playbook or
similar is something I actually need.

That said, "aptitude full-upgrade" breaking the zone is something that
deserves to be solved. In my opinion :).
