I don’t think this is possible. You instead should consider running kvm on smartos.
You might talk to the folks at Pluribus, they have got bhyve working on illumos, so that might be a viable approach too if you can get their work. (bhyve was at the time I last looked proven to have vastly superior networking performance than kvm.)
