For such a seemingly big issue it's awfully quiet everywhere (not just SmartOS). I can only find RedHat's response (https://access.redhat.com/security/vulnerabilities/stackguard) and I'm guessing OpenBSD quietly patched it in may (https://www.openbsd.org/errata61.html "008: SECURITY FIX: May 19, 2017") but no word about Stack Clash.
The only other things I can find about it are sensationalist articles about how everything is supposed to be compromised...
