Greetings All, I have been using my SmartOS SDC system for just a short time now and have also been doing a bit of research into hypervisors as well.
Recently, I was trying to get a feel for how Proxmox compares, or not, to SmartOS as it seems that both do just about the same thing with regards to running VM's although SmartOS is based upon Illumos (Solaris) and Proxmox is based upon Debian. The both seem to have KVM support but is also seems that Proxmox can handle GPU passthrough where as this does not seem to be a target focus for SmartOS, although I thought perhaps that I read that Illumos can support a limited set of GPU's but may be mistaken on this. Not sure about which is more stable, etc. Anyway, I just wanted to see if I could get some input from the mailing list on this if someone has anything that they might like to share.
