- Spin up a new vm with the same size and shape of the "original" one.
That'll have a new uuid, obviously.  Call that the "sacrificial" vm.
- Shut that new vm down with vmadm.
- zfs list and find the names of the new sacrificial vm's disks (zvols).
Note those names.
- zfs destroy those zvols.
- zfs rename your "original" zvols to match the new uuid.
- now you have a new vm with a new uuid, with the storage cloned from the
original.
