I think I have seen this after it was fixed too.
logadm -r /zones/9f3484d5-2807-42c2-8204-eb04fe87d0e4/root/tmp/vm.log
Will make it go away for that particular file.

Looks like https://github.com/joyent/smartos-live/issues/319
Apparently fixed now but there are a couple of workarounds in that
issue
log to help with cleaning up from older releases.
