I am running Opnsense in KVM with 3 vlans through 1 nic. Search the archives
for my json.

Subject: [smartos-discuss] VLAN in KVM
 Hi all

For my OPNSense setup I would need PPPoE on a vlan for my WAN. Unfortunately,
I don’t seem to get it to work. OPNSense runs in a KVM machine, the vnic is a
e1000 model (tried virtio as well) with all restriction lifted (allow*=true)
and the only one on the physical NIC. The physical NIC is directly connected to
the modem, which expects all traffic on a certain vlan.

OPNSense is sending a "Active Discovery Initiation” on the right vlan. In the
global zone I see a response "Active Discovery Offer”, which the KVM machine
apparently does not see (at least it does not reply accordingly; a traffic
capture also shows nothing).

Has anyone a setup of OPNSense/pfSense inside a KVM with VLAN running, and
could give a hint on what to look at?

 Thanks a lot
 Manuel
