While bhyve is great technology, IMHO LX branded zones are very useful still. When I played with Ubuntu last year, one of the problems was that the LX brand does not provide a pipefs implementation (or the pipefs module fails, or...). This breaks the NFS v4 idmapper, and I had to manually modify autofs options in Ubuntu using brute force. So something that would go a long way towards making Ubuntu better as a LX branded zone would be a working pipefs. I know that there is a bug report in the SmartOS tracker, but haven't checked lately. Regards -- Volker -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Volker A.
