Dear readers,

Earlier I asked to see what was going to happen to Zhone (as in future
plans) and the most positive response was that is was turning into a
debugging and testing application.

Cool as that may be, I would like to have something like Zhone, but with
my .desktop files showing which apps I have installed like Om.2008.12
does. I've also created a small (probably soon to be useless) app to
load alsa sound stated [1] and would like to have a button so I can
start it.

Being told that I should not try to turn Zhone into an application
launcher, I'm now left wondering the following: Should I fork Zhone and
rewrite it to use GTK (which I like) or is there already a project like
this running?

Greetings,
  Bram Neijt

[1] This app shows a button for every sound state file in /usr/share..,
clicking a button loads the soundstate (alsactl) and exits.
