i rather think mt-daapd should be extended to speak the used protocol
with the code found at
http://jinxidoru.blogspot.com/2009/06/itunes-remote-pairing-code.html
it should be possible - so gtkTunesRemote (which i also plan to
develop a
frontend for e17 when the according libs and possibly some howtos are
available in debian), the iPhone/iPodTouch Remote.app and dacpRemote for
Android could work equally on Apples iTunes and mt-daapd ..
just my 2ct ..
