Not silly at all IMO.  I think that's what FSO should have done in the
first place.  (But I have the impression that, at the time, the gpsd
project was a bit difficult to deal with.)

In particular, this would enable simultaneous use of gpspipe (for
other devices expecting Bluetooth GPS), gpsd protocol apps (e.g.
tangogps) and FSO interface apps (e.g. Cellhunter, zhone).
