Karl, The SMF team has recently been discussing restart scenarios, so I'm interested in your use case. Do you mind if I ask a few questions. First I'm curious as to why you don't want the service to restart. Are you accumulating too many core files, or is there some other reason? How often is the cups service dumping core? >From a non-SMF standpoint, please file a bug against cups if it is dumping core. Thanks. tom
