Hi All! Below are some thoughts and questions with regards to logging in SMF.
For starter, it'd be nice to be able to "register" service specific logfile in a same way as one can "register" manpage, so that it's at least mentioned by svcs(1) when -x option is specified. Another thing which might be useful some people would be the ability to access (as in write to) the service/instance logs which are being held in /var/svc/log/ subdirectory. I'm aware of the fact that the can write to these logs from smf_method, but it might be useful to be able to write to the same log from the daemon spawned by the smf_method. What do you think?
