I'll try it out > and see. Didn't your original question state that the sysevent service doesn't exist in a zone and that you therefore don't want fmd in the zone to depend on it? If the sysevent service does not exist in a zone, it can't ever be in maintenance, can it? (Or I'm completely misunderstanding your question, of course).
