The message is clear, inetd is not running. Are you booting in multi user mode (milestone all) ?
If the answer is yes then it's probably because a service failed to start correctly and the system dropped into maintenance mode. In this case, you can find the failing service with "svcs -xv". -- Renaud Uwe Dippel wrote: > Having used this install for some time, suddenly X does not come up and it > says: > > svc:/network/rpc/smserver:default > State uninitialized since .. > Reason: Restarter svc:/network/inetd:default is not running > See: http:/sun.com/msg/SMF-8000-5H > See: man rpc.smserverd > 3 dependent services are not running: > multi-user-server > basicreg > zones > > I followed the instructions, and tried > svcs -l service_fmri > svcs -x restarter_service_fmri > but neither seems to exist > > What could I do? > > Uwe > > > This message posted from opensolaris.org > _______________________________________________ > smf-discuss mailing list > smf-discuss at opensolaris.org
