Hey Guys ! This is the way it should be.

SMF is supposed to replace SVR4 init scripts ? So ! The best way I saw
to write an init script was to have variables in head setting where is
the product, its config, and maybe some logs dir.

This is how I like to see SMF properties ! Few variables which tell me
how to find configuration and logs.
This is the only way to stay compatible with any product.
This is the way to keep everybody happy.

Please stop to argue on reliability of SMF due to its repository
model. The only bad thing is HOW the repository model is set
up...something only writable thru an odd svcprop command.
Keep the "registry", throw away the db by adopting a flat files model,
and I'd be happy !
