One technique that Cisco's iSCSI software initiator uses on Solaris is to set
the 'mount at boot' field in /etc/vfstab to 'iscsi' (instead of 'yes' or
'no'). Then an rc2 or rc3 script comes along and calls out those mounts
explicitly. There might be an option to do something similar which fs-local
could then act on (sort of like the separate stanza for zfs mounts in
fs-local). I hopefully will have time to build an additional server tomorrow
and run a few tests to see if I can narrow down the problem.
