I saw the busy configd problem, but there were also a lot of busy gnome
processes, which I attribute do
http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=10002. Once I got gnome
to quiet down by turning off nautilus and rebooting, everything worked fine.
