Thanks for your help. Your explanation cleared up my confusion. I tried svcadm restart svc:/system/system-log, but that did not seem to work. When I tried svcadm refresh scv:/system/system-log, that seemed to work.
I did notice that even after a reboot (before doing the refresh), the new value (log_from_remote) did not have the new value. I thought that after a reboot, the new default values would be in effect. Anyway, thanks again -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
