Seems the config wanted the hosts to have "www" in front of them. Also the probe config needed to be in the same tree.
Hope this helps others. -- Ross. -----Original Message----- From: Ross Tsolakidis [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, 6 September 2002 1:02 PM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: [smokeping-users] Re: Connection refused and graphs stopped g enerating Forgot my config: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------- *** General *** ################################################ # DON'T TOUCH UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING # BETWEEN THESE MARKS! ################################################ sendmail = /usr/lib/sendmail imgcache = /var/www/smokeping imgurl = ../smokeping datadir = /var/www/smokeping piddir = /var/run/smokeping smokemail = /etc/smokeping/smokemail ################################################ # END OF DON'T TOUCH SECTION ################################################ *** Database *** step = 300 pings = 20 # consfn mrhb steps total AVERAGE 0.5 1 1008 AVERAGE 0.5 12 4320 MIN 0.5 12 4320 MAX 0.5 12 4320 AVERAGE 0.5 144 720 MAX 0.5 144 720 MIN 0.5 144 720 *** Presentation *** template = /etc/smokeping/basepage.html + overview width = 600 height = 50 range = 10h + detail width = 600 height = 200 unison_tolerance = 2 "Last 3 Hours" 3h "Last 30 Hours" 30h "Last 10 Days" 10d "Last 400 Days" 400d *** Probes *** + FPing binary = /usr/sbin/fping + EchoPingHttp binary = /usr/bin/echoping + EchoPingSmtp binary = /usr/bin/echoping *** Targets *** ## You have to edit and uncomment all what you want below this. # Please, refer to smokeping_config man page for mor info # The given adresses aren't real to avoid DoS. menu = Top title = Network Latency Grapher remark = Welcome to the SmokePing website of PowerServe, we are located in Melbourne Australia. probe = FPing + World menu = World title = Worldwide Connectivity ++ Europe-UK menu = Europe-UK title = European-UK Connectivity +++ Wireplay-UK menu = Wireplay-UK title = Wireplay web site in the UK host = www.wireplay.co.uk ## ++ USA menu = USA title = USA connectivity +++ Cisco menu = Cisco title = Cisco web site host = Cisco.com ## ++ Local menu = Local stuff title = Local stuff +++ WebServers menu = Web Servers title = Web Servers probe = EchoPingHttp ++++ PSWEB1 menu = PSWEB1 title = PSWEB1 host = psweb1.domain.com ++++ PSWEB2 menu = PSWEB2 title = PSWEB2 host = psweb2.domain.com ++++ PSWEB3 menu = PSWEB3 title = PSWEB3 host = psweb3.domain.com +++++ PROBE_CONF ignore-cache = yes force-revalidate = no port = 80 url = / +++ Mail-Server menu = Mail Servers title = Mail Servers probe = EchoPingSmtp ++++ MAIL menu = MAIL title = mail host = mail.domain.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- Everything works, except the web servers part. Edited the config file, my standard fping probes worked fine for about 3 hours, now they have stopped :( Also I can't seem to get echoping working, when I try echoping on any of our web servers, they all return the same error: Can't connect to server (Connection refused). Can anyone shed some light on this ?
