Hi
Attached are 3 smokeping probes to measure latencies between a Cisco router
and IP hosts:
- ICMP echo (ping) response times
- DNS query response times
- TCP connect times
The probes run on the smokeping server, send SNMP commands to a Cisco IOS
box, the IOS box measures latency a target, the smokeping server fetches the
measurement results using SNMP and then deletes the results on the IOS box,
smokeping displays results as usual.
The probes use the SNMP RttMon MIB ("Service Assurance Agent", "SAA") of
Cisco IOS.
Compared to IOSPing.pm and telnetIOSPing.pm probes, the attached probes
should consume less resources on the router and probably the smokeping
server.
Feedback is welcome :-)
Thanks to Simon Leinen and Tobias Oetiker !
