Apache needs to know where it is allowed to execute cgi's read the Apache doco
You can run the cgi and output it to a html file ./smokeping.cgi > index.html That will test the smokeping.cgi, and general config. However on one machine where I have smokeping installed I continually get premature end os scripts headers: someping.cgi David Andrew IT Services Dept.
