Hi, thanks for the heads-up. This is a bug in Sys::Syslog 0.16. I have reported it as CPAN bug 20164: http://rt.cpan.org/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=20164 I suppose a workaround would be to comment out the 'setlogsock' call in Smokeping.pm.
