Mark,

Look at the documentation for the EchoPing probe. This might fit your needs
as EchoPing allows you to set the ToS bit, packet size etc. EchoPing uses
TCP/UDP rather than ICMP so you need to make sure the endpoint listens on
the appropriate port - default is 7/tcp.

Subject: [smokeping-users] TOS Bit in Pings

Fellow SmokePing Users,

We have been using SmokePing for some time and we are going to be adding
some QoS features to our network such that we will have different queues for
different types of traffic. We would like to send pings via SmokePing over
the different queues by setting the Type-of-Service (TOS) bit to different
values for each queue.

Is this possible with SmokePing? If so, which version and how?

Thanks!

Mark Stickler
