Hi Rune,

Thanks. I didn't find it in "sh ver" but in "show inventory".

NAME: "5", DESCR: "WS-SUP720-3B 2 ports Supervisor Engine 720 Rev. 5.2"

Thanks for the information, I'll have to see if we can use 12.2(33)SRB5 to get
this feature.

Regards,
Manuel

Hi Manuel
SUP is the "supervisor-card" you have in your Cisco 7606. If you run "sh ver"
on your cisco-console an look for "Supervisor Engine".
According to Cisco Software Advisor you need 12.2(33)SRB5 to get "IP SLAs -
MPLS VPN Awareness" : This feature was formerly known as Service Assurance
Agent (SAA). Cisco IOS IP Service Level Agreements (IP SLAs) is a capability
embedded in Cisco IOS Software, and allows Cisco customers to understand IP
service levels, increase productivity, lower operational costs, and reduce the
frequency of network outages. The MPLS VPN operation feature allows SAA probe
traffic to be forwarded using the MPLS VPN VRF routing table. Customers using
this feature will create probes on PE routers utilizing MPLS VPN or on VRF lite
enabled devices.

Hi Rune,

The IOS image is

System image file is "disk0:s72033-advipservicesk9_wan-mz.122-18.SXF9.bin"
I'm new to smokeping and don't know what SUP is. If it is the smokeping version
I am running
SmokePing-2.4.2<http://oss.oetiker.ch/smokeping/counter.cgi/2.004002> on Centos
5.3.
Do you know the minimum IOS version that is IP SLA vrf-aware?

Thanks,

Manuel

Hi
A lot of older IOS isn't IP SLA vrf-aware. Could you inform me which IOS image
you are running ? Run "sh ver" on your console and normaly look for image at
disk0:
Which SUP are you using??
Also be aware of IOS 12.2(18)SXF9 have some serious software issues and are
quite old.

Subject: [smokeping-users] Using CiscoRTTMonEchoICMP with VRFs

Hello,

I've recently setup smokeping version 2.004002 and am trying to get
CiscoRTTMonEchoICMP to work with VRFs but when I run it I get the following
error:

SNMP Error:
Received SNMP response with error code
  error status: noCreation
  index 14 (OID: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.42.1.2.2.1.26.22187)
SNMPv2c_Session (remote host: "10.32.0.218" [10.32.0.218].161)
                   community: "minmssecret"
                  request ID: 422131458
                 PDU bufsize: 8000 bytes
                     timeout: 2s
                     retries: 5
                     backoff: 1)

My config is:

++ 10-6-40-140
menu = 10.6.40.140
probe = CiscoRTTMonEchoICMP
title = 10.6.40.140 vrf myVrfName
host = 10.6.40.140
ioshost = [email protected]
packetsize = 56
tos = 160
vrf = myVrfName

And this is from a cisco CISCO7606 router running IOS Version 12.2(18)SXF9.

Anyone run into a similar issue? Googling hasn't helped in finding a solution.

Thanks,
Manuel
